That’s so Raven.
Raven-Symoné, the 22-year-old singer and star of the Disney Channel series “That’s So Raven,” dazzled a group of fifth-grade girls from East Valley Intermediate School on Saturday night. Twice.
The girls — Kenna Leach, 10; Kylie Brulotte, 10; Shawnee Powell, 10; and Taylor Manrique, 11 — were thrilled to see the singer perform at 7:30 p.m. on the main stage at the Central Washington State Fair. In fact, they lined up nearly two hours before the show to make sure they got in.
After the concert, the girls rehashed the night’s highlights with their parents during a late dinner at Applebee’s, where — on a trip to the restroom — they discovered Raven-Symoné dining with her entourage near the back of the restaurant.
“Lo and behold, she was right by the restrooms with her big group having dinner,” says Kenna’s mom, Kim Leach, 42. “I told them they couldn’t bother them, but then I got to thinking if it was Kenny Chesney, I would certainly go ask (for an autograph), so I told them they had to ask properly and say thank you and please.”
Raven-Symoné signed all the girls’ concert T-shirts, plus the foot cast of an older brother of one of the girls.
“They’re very excited,” Kim Leach says. “They’re starstruck. They think this is the best thing that’s happened in their lives.”
