Farley -- 70 Years

Wilfred and Marguerite Farley of Selah will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary Nov. 9 with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. at the IOOF Hall, 206 W. Walnut St. in Yakima. The event will be hosted by their children.

Wilfred Farley and Marguerite McDowell were married Nov. 9, 1938, in Yakima. They have lived in the area more than 70 years.

Mr. Farley retired from Weyerhaeuser after 23 years. Mrs. Farley was a cook in the Selah School District. They also farmed in Selah.

The couple has three children, Mary Farley of Yakima, Robert Farley of Gleed and Dan Kirk of San Diego. They also have many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Brown -- 60 Years

Charles and Nona Brown of Seattle, formerly of the Yakima Valley, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in October with a trip to Waikiki Beach, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Charles Brown and Nona Yearout were married Sept. 18, 1948, at the Wapato Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Brown retired after 43 years with Boeing Co.

The couple has two sons and three grandchildren.

Thacker -- 50 Years

Corbett and Marie Thacker of Yakima celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Oct. 27.

Corbett Thacker and Marie Smith were married Oct. 27, 1958, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Mr. Thacker retired from Boise Cascade and Mrs. Thacker is a retired apple sorter.

The couple has three children, Carolyn Ross of Yakima, Kathy Thacker of Vancouver, Wash., and Geraldine Dahlberg of Pioneer, Calif. They also have eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Jardine -- 40 Years

Cliff and Nancy Jardine of Zillah celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary Oct. 22.

Cliff Jardine and Nancy Bloomfield were married Oct. 22, 1968, in San Jose, Calif. They have lived in the area 16 years.

Mr. Jardine is employed with Silgan. Mrs. Jardine is a homemaker.

The couple has two children, Amy Jardine of Yakima and Josh Jardine of Zillah. They also have one granddaughter.

Jackson -- 30 Years

Ward and Terri Jackson of Yakima observed their 30th wedding anniversary. They plan to celebrate with a trip to Europe in 2009.

Ward Jackson and Terri Capistran were married Oct. 21, 1978, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Yakima. They are lifelong area residents.

Mr. Jackson co-owns Central Valley Glass Inc. Mrs. Jackson is the operating manager for the Yakima County Prosecuting Attorney's office.

The couple has two children, Stephanie Morgan of Redmond, Wash., and Laura Jackson of Seattle. They also have one grandchild.
