Yearout -- 60 years

Donald D. and Virginia "Ginger" L. Yearout of Yakima celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Aug. 29.

Donald D. Yearout and Virginia McCurdy were married Aug. 29, 1948, in Wapato. They have lived in the area 80 years.

The couple has three children, Marcus D. Yearout of Bellingham, Wash., and Sindy L. Skeel and Gaylene M. Yearout, both of Issaquah, Wash. They also have seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

 

Cowin -- 50 years

Dick and Joyce Cowin of Wapato celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 2 with a garden reception hosted by their children and families.

Dick Cowin and Joyce Asimus were married Sept. 6, 1958, in Olympia. They are lifelong area residents.

Mr. Cowin is a self-employed fruit rancher. Mrs. Cowin retired as an elementary school librarian from the Mt. Adams School District.

The couple has four children, Doug and Mike, both of Wapato, and Ron and Jim, both of Yakima. They also have eight grandchildren.

 

Haubrich -- 50 years

Richard and Joyce Haubrich of Yakima celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary the weekend of Aug. 23 with a trip to Leavenworth, Wash. The event was hosted by their children.

Richard Haubrich and Joyce Guffey were married Aug. 16, 1958, at St. Michael's Church in Yakima.

Mr. Haubrich is retired from the city of Yakima. Mrs. Haubrich is a retired office manager.

The couple has two children, Greg and Wayne, both of Yakima. They also have six grandchildren.

 

Fleming -- 40 years

Ron and Pam Fleming of Granger will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary with a family vacation to Hawaii in July.

Ron Fleming and Pam Thomas were married Sept. 6, 1968, at Peace Lutheran Church in Monroe, Wash. They have lived in the area 36 years.

Mr. Fleming was a high school math teacher in Granger for 30 years and is currently teaching math at Mabton High School. Mrs. Fleming is a first-grade teacher with the Granger School District.

The couple has two children, Stephanie Lloyd of Everett, Wash., and Tom Fleming of Selah.

 

Trevino -- 35 years

Alberto Sr. and Ninfa Trevino of Sunnyside will celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary with a trip this autumn.

Alberto Trevino and Ninfa Garcia were married Sept. 9, 1973, in Yakima. They have lived in the area 23 years.

Mr. Trevino is employed at Beiber Bros. Mrs. Trevino is employed at Lincoln Family Center.

The couple has three children, Cindy Sears of Yakima, Alberto Jr. of Pasco and Thomas of Seattle. They also have two grandchildren.

 

Smith -- 50 years

C. Benson and Frances J. Smith of Yakima are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today with a reception at the Yakima Area Arboretum.

C. Benson Smith and Frances J. Witt were married Sept. 7, 1958, in Yakima. They have lived in the area 73 years.

Mr. Smith is a retired funeral director. Mrs. Smith is a retired radiation therapist/X-ray technician.

The couple has one child, C.B. Smith of Katy, Texas. They also have four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

 

Huylar -- 50 years

Glen and Geraldine "Dolly" Huylar of Zillah will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception planned for a later date.

Glen and Geraldine Huylar were married Sept. 6, 1958, in Toppenish.

Mr. and Mrs. Huylar are retired.

The couple has four children, Tamera of Yakima, Greg of Terrace Heights, Michael of Maple Valley, Wash., and Kimberly of Seattle. They also have two grandchildren.

 

Gerhauser -- 30 years

Steve and Charlene Gerhauser of Yakima celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary with a cruise to the Caribbean in January.

Steve Gerhauser and Charlene Liniger were married Aug. 31, 1978, in Yakima. They have lived in the area 35 years.

Mr. Gerhauser owns and operates Steve's Dental Lab. Mrs. Gerhauser is a wedding planner.

The couple has four children, Daniel Eric Brittingham and Rachel McLaughlin, both of Yakima, Jason G. Brittingham, serving in Iraq, and Steve Gerhauser Jr. of Houston. They also have five grandchildren.

 

Doornink -- 30 years

Dan and Sharon Doornink of Yakima celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary with a family trip to New York, New Jersey and a cruise to New England.

Dan Doornink and Sharon Simmons were married Sept. 11, 1978, in Hasbrouck Heights, N.J. They have lived in the area since 1990.

Mr. Doornink is an internal medicine physician at Cornerstone Medical Clinic. Mrs. Doornink is a retired home-school teacher and homemaker.

The couple has four children, Heidi Doornink, Danielle Doornink, Tyler Doornink and Grace Doornink, all of Yakima.
