YAKIMA — A 16-year-old boy was stabbed in the arm and leg Saturday night in what police described as a gang-related assault.
The boy was booked at the juvenile detention center on an arrest warrant after being treated for his wounds at Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center, according to a news release from the Yakima Police Department.
The incident was reported about 9:15 p.m.
Officers first responded to the 1400 block of Roosevelt Avenue to take the report, but the victim had left the area by the time they arrived. He was located several minutes later.
He reported that the stabbing happened at First and Chestnut streets. Three suspects identified themselves as gang members before attacking, the victim said.
Police said the victim appeared to belong to a rival gang.
No arrests were reported.
